Why exchange rates differ
Naira exchange rates can differ because official market rates, bank card rates, international transfer rates, bureau-de-change or street rates, and fintech rates are not always the same. Before making a payment or transfer, check the rate source, date, fees, and whether the rate is buying or selling.

What to check before using a rate
- Is the rate official, bank, fintech, transfer, or street-market context?
- Is it a buying rate, selling rate, closing rate, or indicative rate?
- What date was it updated?
- Are transfer fees, card fees, or cash withdrawal charges included?
- Will your bank or provider actually honour that rate?
