Blood group and genotype are different things. Blood group relates to blood transfusion compatibility; genotype is important for sickle cell risk and family planning.
Your blood group may be A, B, AB, or O, with Rh positive or negative. Your genotype may be AA, AS, AC, SS, SC, or others. In Nigeria, genotype testing is important because sickle cell disease is inherited.

Shows haemoglobin inheritance pattern. Two parents can pass traits to children, so genotype counselling matters before marriage or pregnancy planning.
