The Lagos airport names explained
Murtala Muhammed International Airport is in Ikeja and uses IATA code LOS. FAAN identifies international Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. Domestic services can use the General Aviation Terminal, commonly called GAT or MMA1, while MMA2 is a separate privately operated domestic terminal.
Your ticket may show LOS without making the road destination obvious. Check the airline’s message or manage-booking page.
How to confirm your terminal
- Check the operating airline, not only the marketing airline.
- Read the check-in message sent near departure.
- Use the airline’s official website or support channel.
- Tell the driver the terminal name, not only “airport.”
- Recheck on the day because operations can move.
International-to-domestic connections
Immigration, baggage collection and customs happen before a separately ticketed domestic check-in. If the domestic terminal is different, add road-transfer and traffic time. A delay on the first ticket may not protect a second booking.
Keep essential medication, documents, a charger and one change of clothes in cabin baggage within the airline’s rules.

Planning the journey to the airport

Before leaving, check passport validity, visa or residence evidence, ticket name, baggage allowance and power-bank rules. Keep documents in cabin baggage and make screenshots available offline.
A separate-ticket connection example
A passenger arriving internationally at 2:00 pm with a 4:30 pm domestic flight on a separate ticket may have too little time. The traveller must disembark, clear immigration, collect bags, pass customs, transfer terminals and meet domestic check-in closure. A late inbound airline is not obliged to rebook the separate domestic ticket.
Where possible, leave a generous buffer or overnight. If both flights are on one protected ticket, ask the airline how baggage and disruption are handled, but still verify the terminal.
